Job Summary and Requirements

This posting will be used to fill 1 year term full-time position working 75 bi-weekly starting April 1, 2025, until March 2026. It will establish a 12-month eligibility list which may be used to fill similar positions.

This job is based in the thriving and diverse city of Whitehorse in the beautiful Yukon.

About us

The Community and Primary Care (CPC) Division of Health and Social Services has a broad mandate and range pf programming. The Interprofessional Practice and Chief Nursing Officer branch work focuses on professional practice standards, clinical education and policy, and system level efficiencies. The focus of this position is to support consistent administration, standardized and equitable approaches for a variety of health professionals' clinical practicum placements and education institution agreements. This will result in reduced administrative burden for managers and clinicians and contribute to supporting and growing the health workforce.

Your role

The Clinical Placement Coordinator arranges student clinical placements for a variety of healthcare professions (e.g. nursing, therapies, paramedics, social work and potentially medical students) in various clinical settings, including communities and facilities based across the Yukon. The Clinical Placement Coordinator acts as the liaison between the health delivery locations and educational institutions to match students with clinical sites to support students with appropriate learning experiences. The Clinical Placement Coordinator reviews governmental, organizations, and branch-specific clinical and non-clinical requirements in addition to academic requirements to support safe placements of students in workplaces.

Essential qualifications

Please submit your resume clearly demonstrating how you meet the qualifications below. Selections for further consideration will be based solely on the information you provide in your resume.

  • Extensive experience in administrative roles (i.e. logistical support, managing schedules, drafting correspondence and agreements) in a government or large health organization setting
  • Demonstrated experience using Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience maintaining paper and electronic file management systems, including data entry; and
  • Experience liaising with internal government and external partners, officials and senior support staff
