Position Title: Training and Documentation Specialist, Group Administration

Reports To: Manager, Group Administration

Department: Group Claims and Admin Management

Term: Permanent Full-Time

Work Arrangements: This is a hybrid role. You will work in our office in Waterloo, ON a minimum of two (2) assigned, consecutive days every other week, plus a fifth (5th) assigned day per month. You are welcome to work from the office more than the minimum requirement and there may be some roles that are required to work in our office more than the minimum requirement.

The Opportunity: Equitable is growing! We are looking for a Training and Documentation Specialist to join our Group Claims and Admin Management team!

As a Training and Documentation Specialist, you will create and deliver comprehensive and meaningful process and technology training for our Group Administration team.

What you will be doing:

  • Participate in project working groups to provide subject matter expertise to effectively update procedural change and prepare training plans and materials for the Group Administration operational areas
  • Analyze and assess training and development needs in collaboration with key business leads to determine and create comprehensive and effective training programs
  • Develop and utilize training materials including training strategies, lesson plans, presentation materials and training activities to maximize learning impact
  • Evaluating and recording training effectiveness through the measurement of skill improvement and attainment of service standards
  • Perform analysis, develop, and maintain new/existing procedural documentation.
  • Execute training sessions to existing staff and potentially new hires
  • Perform team audits and report on quality results, assess for areas of improvement

What you will bring:

  • Demonstrated knowledge of curriculum design and understanding of training concepts and methodologies related to adult education
  • Superior interpersonal, oral/written communication and presentation skills
  • Proven experience in documentation and courseware preparation and delivery of interactive training sessions using a variety of methods (web-based training, virtual and in person classroom training, job aids, multimedia visual aids and reference materials)
  • Comfortable with managing and prioritizing multiple projects simultaneously and meeting deadlines with limited supervision in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to perform in a constantly changing environment
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Wiki based applications
  • University degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience
  • Certificate in adult education/learning would be an asset
  • Prior experience in the insurance industry would be an asset
  • Bilingual would be an asset
