As part of the ONxpress consortium, Alstom is proudly working to transform the collective mobility of the Greater Toronto and Hamilton areas (GTHA) through the On-Corridor Works project. The GO Expansion scope: new electric locomotives, fleet upgrades, train control systems, network electrification, signalling, telecommunications and digital systems, maintenance, and much more.

Objective:

  • Control the flow of the Engineering deliverables at each stage of the project
  • Manage the DML (Document Master List) of the Signalling part of the project in coordination with the Work Package Owner and ensure the consistency with the schedule
  • Ensure with the support of Doc control team the availability of the whole project documentation
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders inside the Signaling team, and with the Turnkey team (entity which aggregate the documentation produced by different units), and finally with the customer.

Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
  • Is responsible of the deployment and execution of the documentation management process,
  • Creates, updates and maintains the Document Master List (DML) and the Documentation Management Plans (DMP) if applicable
  • Manages documentation management requirements from the Customer
  • Manages the DML list according to the Alstom standard V Cycle
  • Follows and makes sure rules defined in the DMP are understood and applied by every team member
  • Ensures documentation is properly validated before any submission to Customer
  • Adapts and implements the documentation structure in accordance with standards.
  • Defines, assigns and follows the contractual deliverables for the technical and management documentation categories in the Contractual Deliverables Requirement List
  • Updates and uses documentation internal and external distribution list
  • Manages and deploys document management tools and trains users
  • Suggests improvements of the activity (REX on documentation issues: process, organization)
  • Participates to configuration reviews to guarantee integration in all activities of the team members that are involved with documentation.
  • Defines & analyses documentation reporting, indicators to be provided by Documentation Controller and report analysis to its department head, Project Management & Core Team Manager, team members and Customer (when required).
  • Manages, in applying internal rules/instructions, Document translation, record management and physical archiving.
  • Provide documentation reporting and indicators to Site Documentation Manager, Project Manager, Project Management Team and Customer
  • Coordinates with a team of Documentation Controllers when necessary

Performance measurements:

  • Documentation Management KPIs (Quality, Delivery of in contractual documentation in due time)
  • Adherence to process, measured by process inspections
  • Perform overview about document delivery milestones in general, and support payment milestones

Qualification/Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Minimum of 3 years in Engineering environment
  • Good Communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work with, and contribute as a team
  • Attention to detail
  • Systematic, rigorous, organized, able to multitasks
  • Competence in Microsoft Office

  • Knowledge of Railway Signaling products and systems
