What is the opportunity?

As a Copywriter, you'll play an integral role in helping Investment Advisors tell their unique stories to connect with future clients. In this role, you will write compelling copy for web, email, social, and some traditional print, with a focus on digital storytelling. You will work within an agile team of content strategists, designers, developers, and other marketers to ideate, problem-solve, and execute on individual branding strategies across key digital marketing platforms (website, email, social, etc.).

What will you do?

  • Write and conceptualize clear marketing copy for web, email, social, and traditional print (and the occasional video) to highlight the personal brand, and explain the services of, some of the leading advisors in Canada
  • Assist in interviewing Investment Advisors and their teams to uncover the core essence of their brand, story, and value proposition
  • Develop and master a variety of brand voices and tones
  • Work closely with Investment Advisors and their team members - from briefing through to implementation - to inform your storytelling
  • Partner with designers to create copy for compelling graphics, photos, marketing collateral, and occasional videos
  • Contribute to highly collaborative copywriting department through peer editing, including substantive editing as well as proofreading
  • Develop creative solutions with minimal direction and guidance, when required
  • Keep up to date with the latest digital marketing and writing trends, techniques, and technologies

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

  • 4+ years of experience writing marketing copy in various brand voices/tones and in accordance with SEO principles
  • 2+ years of experience working in a marketing, branding, or advertising role in a corporate environment or related agency
  • A flair and passion for words, and an ability to sell through your work to various stakeholders, developing a collaborative relationship with a focus on service excellence
  • Ability to organize work and establish priorities independently to meet deadlines

Nice-to-have

  • Post-Secondary education in: English, Journalism, Communications or a related field, or equivalent work experience
  • Experience working as part of a traditional creative team (designer and copywriter)
  • Bilingual; fluent in both English and French (reading, writing, conversation)
  • Demonstrated editing/proofreading skills, including having worked with style guides
