98.1 CHFI Assistant Content Director/Sr. Producer

98.1 CHFI is the home of Canada's biggest on-air personalities. A unique opportunity has opened to work with these personalities and to shape the overall programming of this legendary Toronto radio station.


We're on the hunt for a leader with a proven track record of inspiring and managing talent. You will be joining our Toronto Radio programming team, with a focus on driving the success of The Pooja and Gurdeep Morning show while supporting day to day programming of Canada's Biggest AC Radio Station. Reporting to the Content Director you'll work daily with the CHFI morning show acting as Senior Producer; In this capacity you'll lead content planning and in-studio execution of the show with a focus on delivering winning and engaging audio content. Beyond the morning show you will support the Content Director in the day-to-day execution of the station content strategy across multiple platforms.


What you'll do:

  • As Senior Producer play a leading role in all aspects of daily production for the Pooja and Gurdeep Morning Show.
  • You'll help develop the editorial vision for the show, and take responsibility for ensuring it's implementation.
  • Maintain exceptional levels of on-air execution, ensuring that only fresh and relevant content goes to air and that our listeners love what they hear.
  • Generate and develop creative, original and new ideas for the show
  • Produce live in studio and build a solid working relationship with the team
  • Support the Content Director with all aspects of the day-to-day programming and coordination of the Programming Department.
  • Contribute to the co-creation of the station's strategic action plan, and take responsibility for ensuring it's effective implementation as part of the CHFI content leadership team.
  • Work in conjunction with Branded Content and Integration and Sales Teams around planning and execution of promotions and contests.
  • Be a bridge between programming and digital teams around implementing strategies for Seekr, our brand-new Audio App.
  • Build strong relationships with the on-air team, and cross functional teams supporting the achievement of CHFI's audience & revenue goals.
  • Manage the day-to-day administration of the department including, but not limited to, managing program schedules, coordinating studio bookings, liner writing & scheduling, promo trail scheduling and timing out music logs.
  • Work in conjunction with the Content Director and Music team to ensure the daily music log is reflective of the music strategy. The ability to support music & imaging scheduling is important.
  • The ability to go on air in both a live and/or voice-track capacity to provide vacation relief as needed.
  • Deputise for the CHFI Content Director as needed


What you'll bring:

  • Proven success within a Content Leadership role, ie: Show Producer, Acting Content Director or Content Director/Manager.
  • Expertise in talent management and show development.
  • Excellent knowledge of the Pop music scene
  • Outstanding communication skills and exceptional time management, the ability to maintain focus and output when working under pressure.
  • A keen passion for developing and motivating others to perform at their best.
  • Excellent organizational skills and detail oriented, as well as ability to multitask
  • Ability to work independently, yet a strong team player with a terrific attitude
  • Ability to deliver a compelling and relevant on air performance if required to provide vacation relief
  • Experience with Wide Orbit Automation; VoxPro; Music Master; Adobe Audition & Word Press is desirable
