Job Summary

We are seeking two (2) Shelter Services Representatives to support the administration of shelter services. Reporting to the Supervisor, Shelter Administration, these positions will issue pet licensing, adoptions and also provide administrative and project support duties of our shelter services.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Respond to inquiries and service requests related to pet licensing, bylaws, lost and found animals, etc.
  • Process and issue pet license applications and renewals
  • Administer lost and found process including update website with unidentified animals, connect pet owners with their found animals, animal intake process, etc.
  • Facilitate animal licensing including prepare receipts, pet license certificates, reminder notices, donation letters and licence tags for mail-out.
  • Daily auditing of licensing tags and monies collected, creating estimates, invoices and receipts for customers and vendors
  • Coordinate volunteer program and co-op student tasks
  • Support various project work and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Other duties as assigned

Skills and Qualifications

  • Demonstrated animal handling experience, preferred 2-3 years of animal shelter experience
  • Must have minimum grade 12 education; completed post secondary education in business, administration or Animal Care is preferred
  • Exceptional customer service skills
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of administrative, customer service and data entry experience is preferred
  • Intermediate skills with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word
  • Up-to-date rabies vaccination or recent titer check required
  • Experience with Chameleon (adoption platform) considered an asset
  • Position requires 40-hour work week, including Saturdays

Hourly Rate/Salary: $54,908 - $73,211
