The Opportunity

This position works from our Mississauga office in the Electrophysiolgy Division. In Abbott's Electrophysiology (EP) business, we're advancing the treatment of heart disease through breakthrough medical technologies in atrial fibrillation, allowing people to restore their health and get on with their lives.

The Contract Specialist supports the sales force in all areas of customer and contract relations including drafting contracts, amendments, renewals and responding to customer requests including RFPs. The person in this role responds to all inquiries from internal and external customers regarding contracts and contract or list prices. They ensure that all pricing guidelines are followed and that correct customer contracted prices are inputted into the pricing system. Finally, they works closely with departments to ensure that contracts are processed and obligations fulfilled.

What You'll Do
• Maintain all files pertaining to contracts in ModelN and other applicable shared folders;
• Respond to internal and external customer requests;
• Responsible for all areas of pricing for identified territory managers and/or districts;
• Prepare and distribute contracts, amendments and tenders to customers according to guidelines set by applicable Managers and departments;
• Complete contract renewal information and forward to customer based on information received from representative and applicable approvers;
• Ensure contract pricing is in the pricing system on a timely basis;
• Work with Chicago re: new developments, as required;
• Assist with the training of new hires, where applicable;
• Follow-up with Sales Representatives for acceptance of agreements;
• Complete set up of materials in MDG/SAP/Model N, as applicable;
• Search for Request for Proposals;
• RFPs: work with the division to compile and review responses, ensuring the response is completed accurately as per divisional approvals and guidelines, and received prior to the deadline;
• Execute contract management activities throughout the life of the contracts: value adds, contract compliance, contracted price actions, amendments, tracking and reconciliation, renewals, rebates, etc.;
• Negotiate contract terms with the business and customers.

- Monthly
• Calculate the monthly CPR billings for customer's using AbbottLink or using customer LIS information;
• Extend contracts as required in Model N;
• Generate evergreen amendments as required.

- Quarterly
• Identify contracts required for quarterly recognition for MPO, disclosure and lessor accounting which includes: calculation of contract values for revenue recognition/disclosure and recognizing lessor accounting standards.

- Yearly
• Implement list price increases into SAP as applicable and send out notification letters to customers;
• Update shipping and handling fees in SAP as applicable.

- As required
• Translate and proofread English/French pricing proposals/documents for divisions;
• Provide customer communications as required by representatives, for review via email, letters, etc.;
• Assist with various projects as assigned;
• Perform other administrative duties as required, such as filing, mailing, photocopying.

Required Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree;
• 5-8 years of experience in a similar role;
• Bilingualism (English and French);
• Advanced knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint), Internet, SAP and Model N;
• Must be able to work under pressure with strict deadlines;
• Must be able to effectively prioritize and juggle responsibilities;
• Ability to easily adapt to change;
• Able to multi-task;
• Very high attention to detail;
• Ability to understand financial (rebates, credits, pricing, value);
• High level of organizational skills to retrieve information quickly;
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills;
• Able to articulate key actions and summarize conclusions;
• Strong understanding of general contract terms.
