We are looking for a Asset Management Process Specialist to be responsible for planning, monitoring, and recording of assets to ensure compliance and accuracy with the Site Operating Condition Agreement (SOCA). What you will be doing!
  • Initiating improvements to AM processes and systems.
  • Acting as the main point of contact, to coordinate and oversee the transfer/disposal/recycling/loaning/return of lease of assets as to ensure assets are being optimized, reported, and dispositioned as per Company protocols and standards.
  • Notifying Asset Custodians of requirements and gaps to be resolved, recommending suggested improvements, providing database training for new Asset Custodians, initiate and coordinate reports, maintaining the asset inventory documentation.
  • Reconciling the asset information captured in various asset inventory databases and recommend/execute improvements by working with internal and external groups.
  • Preparing and maintaining all AM Division reporting including PEMP, APWB, new and disposed assets, Risk Register, and Self Assessments by working within and outside the Division to ensure accuracy, completeness and timely reporting for review of Team Lead and Director.
  • Updating and providing input into the Property/Asset Management Governing documents, Asset Management Plans, and other AM documentation.
  • Liaising widely to promote and advocate effective information collection and management practices with respect to asset condition and value information.
  • Leading the inventory control and reporting with asset custodians throughout the company by providing direction, process and ensuring that non-compliance is resolved and reported.
  • Maintaining historical records by documenting information changes and revisions.
  • Interacting one-on-one and in groups, with customers and service providers across all CNL sites.
  • Initiating and implement improvements to asset control and management.
  • Responding to a wide range of multi-level internal inquiries with potentially sensitive information while using discretion in the release of information.
  • Coordinating training and travel for the Division.
  • Providing Administrative Support for the Asset Management Director and Asset Management Team.
  • Other duties assigned by your Manager.
What we are looking for:
  • Education
    • College or university graduation diploma in office administration or business-related course of study
    • Certification and/or training in Asset Management would be beneficial.
  • Experience
    • Over three years of relevant experience in Asset Management
    • provision of support to a team, provision of clear direction and results/requirement
    • Experience with report preparation is ideal
  • Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
    • Must be "Team" oriented with a demonstrated ability to work well with others and promote a positive work environment.
    • Must be "Customer" oriented with ability to focus on competitively providing quality and accurate deliverables.
    • An excellent communicator, the incumbent will work well in both a team environment and independently, will have a strong attention to detail, as well as superior problem-solving skills and ability to strategically plan and prioritize work.
    • Must demonstrate an ability to learn and adapt to software and technical changes. Must demonstrate technical excellence with sound working knowledge of computers with the ability to understand, use, apply, and combine a variety of software.
    • Good verbal and written skills to be able to communicate clearly and accurately (and where appropriately diplomatically) with both technical and non-technical personnel, inside and outside CNL.
    • Independent mobility including ability to climb stairs and work outside for limited periods of time.
    • Ability to think strategically and to translate high-level strategic goals into understandable objectives across CNL.
    • Ability to work outside normal work hours.
    • Must be knowledgeable and proficient in operating Microsoft Office suite of programs (e.g., Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and Word) and various database applications (ATOM, OnTRACK, Peoplesoft, Oracle, etc.)
    • Must be knowledgeable in CNL's policies and procedures and organizational structure.
    • Adept at conducting research into asset management initiatives including software, benchmarking industry standards, data analytics program capabilities
    • Must be able to learn, understand, and apply new technologies.
    • Customer service skills are critical.
    • Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
    • Understanding of CNL's Management System
    • Must have ability to work to plan; measure goals; manage time, all under demanding and diverse situations and stressful deadlines. Creativity, innovation, flexibility and adaptability are required to handle the multiple priorities and schedule pressures of the various customers.
    • Must be committed to quality work and professional standards and dedicated to the successful completion of all customer requirements. Using the collaborative approach, have the ability to function effectively in a work environment that is heavily customer oriented.
    • Must be aware of and embrace the ever-changing work environment and proactively make recommendations to change. Must be a "change agent" who is willing to help others to accept and understand change, share their skills and proactively learn new skills. Willingness to change work location and customer work focus.
    • ISO 55000 Asset Management standards
    • Strong familiarity and technical competence with asset management software and/or inventory-tracking systems, such as the Total Asset Summary (TAS) database and being willing to learn new applications
    • General knowledge of accounting, finance, and logistics
  • Security Clearance Eligibility Required
    • Reliability Status with Site Access Security Clearance (SASC), which has a minimum requirement of 3-5 years of verifiable history in Canada, Australia, New Zealand, the United States and/or the United Kingdom. CNL implements security screening in accordance with the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat's "Standard on Security Screening" and the "Policy on Government Security."

Location:

CNL works with employees across Canada to enable a remote workforce where possible. This role requires occasional work at CNL's Chalk River Laboratory site, permitting the employee to primarily work remotely, should they so desire. CNL employees who choose to work remotely the majority of the time are provided with the equipment required to be successful at their remote workplace (laptop, chair, monitor, etc.); however, they are not provided a dedicated onsite office. CNL's Chalk River laboratory is nestled in the Ottawa Valley.
