DUTIES
Reporting to the Manager of Graduate Programs and with minimum supervision, the Intermediate Secretary will be responsible for providing administrative support for the thesis based graduate programs, including the Master of Science (MSc) in Management, Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Management, and the interdisciplinary Master of Employment Relations (MER). This position requires initiative and judgement and involves acting as the first contact for current and potential graduate students. Duties include maintaining applicant and student files; assisting in navigating students' programs of study; monitoring applicant files to ensure admissibility; providing administrative support for the Graduate Research Programs Committee; compiling statistical information and reports; arranging exam schedules; organizing the graduate scholarship process; and performing other related duties as required. The successful applicant will work closely with the Director of the MER program, the Academic Programs Assistant for the course- based master's programs, and liaise with other staff members within the Faculty of Business Administration, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, School of Graduate Studies and Registrar's Office. This position also provides administrative support to the Associate Dean (Graduate Programs and Research).
QUALIFICATIONS
Experience (3-5 years) in academic program activities within a university environment; completion of a two-year office administration program, supplemented by university courses in business administration or related field, is required; or an equivalent combination of experience and training will be considered. The ideal candidate will possess strong interpersonal and organizational skills, as well as excellent written and oral communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, is required. Knowledge of Banner Student Management System will be an asset.
SALARY 53,729 - $63,029 per annum (Non- Bargaining)
