Shared Health leads the planning and coordinates the integration of patient-centered clinical and preventive health services across Manitoba. The organization also delivers some province-wide health services and supports centralized administrative and business functions for Manitoba health organizations.

Position Overview

Reporting to the Manager, Health Services, the incumbent is responsible for: Coordinating, managing and maintaining the distribution of equipment within the Patient Equipment Depot using the Inventory Tracking System (Micro-Main) and developing and maintaining three additional equipment/device tracking databases. Participating in the capital equipment process including contacting vendors and providing Manager of Patient Care with product information. Ensuring equipment is safe and in good mechanical working order and is available for patient use. Providing administrative support to Patient Equipment Depot and Transport Services. Acting as a resource to HSC personnel regarding equipment availability distribution, care and use.

Experience

  • Previous hospital experience required.
  • Experience with inventory and audit systems.

Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)

  • Complete high school education, Manitoba standards, required.
  • Relevant post-secondary education (e.g., diploma in electronics, computer sciences, mechanical or a power engineer program).

Certification/Licensure/Registration

  • Cushman cart driver certification within 3 months of employment.
  • Workplace health and safety certificate preferred.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Typing 40-50 wpm and knowledge of computer programs (e.g., Windows XP, Word, Excel and Outlook) required.
  • Mechanical aptitude required.
  • Knowledge of inventory and audit systems required.
  • Must have excellent English communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Preference will be given to those applicants competent in an Indigenous language and/or knowledge in Indigenous customs, traditions and values.
  • Must have excellent interpersonal, organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Must be able to work independently, schedule own activities, prioritize and problem-solve and demonstrate initiative.
  • Must have good understanding of safe work practices when dealing with equipment.

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to work under pressure.
