Under the direct supervision of the Mutuel Manager, this position will be responsible for selling tickets and receiving payments, balancing your window at the end of each shift and verifying all cash received and answering and assisting guests with any questions or concerns they may have . This position requires flexibility for scheduling including evenings, holidays, and weekend shifts to support our Live Horse Racing season. Ensures adherence to the Company's policies and procedures, motivates and leads by example and supports Great Canadian's learning environment while establishing a safe and welcoming work environment for all team members.
Key Accountabilities
Sell programs and forms at designated points of sale; perform related duties (including but not limited to: accounting/reconciliation of assigned monies and inventory)
Deliver and run assigned programs
Adhere to terminal operator procedures for cash handling and control, which included but is not limited to initial draws (float), cash returns (skims), final cash returns and/or shortages
Deliver floats, skims, deposits and/or other assigned monies to the Money Room, Admissions offices and/or points of sale
Gather necessary information, such as "scratches" pertaining to assigned race cards
Balance window at the end of each shift
Verify all cash received
Answer guests questions, and provide information on procedures or policies
Assist guests by providing information and resolving their concerns
Ensures compliance with licensing laws, health and safety and other statutory regulations
Performs other duties as assigned or directed
Qualifications
Must be available to work live Horse Racing event dates
Knowledge of Horse Racing an asset
Minimum 1 year cash handling experience
Ability to successfully obtain a Gaming License
Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy, excellent attention to detail
Strong customer service, inter-personal, and communication skills, including good oral and written English, excellent computer skills and data entry experience an asset.
Ability to multi-task and to work effectively with minimal supervision
Work Environment Considerations
Regular office and racetrack environment, sitting or standing for long periods of time, high volume cash-handling, non-traditional work hours
