Position: Coordinator, Social Media & Content (Vancouver Warriors)

Department: Social Media

Reports to: Director, Social Media

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Coordinator, Social Media & Content is responsible for strategically creating and publishing social media content to drive growth and engagement across the Vancouver Warriors digital channels. This role is responsible for day-to-day coverage both at home and on the road for the Vancouver Warriors, including photo, written and hosted video content across all social channels and vancouverwarriors.com.

As a member of the Canucks Sports & Entertainment (CSE)'s social media team, the Coordinator, Social Media & Content will be based out of our downtown Vancouver office but will be required to regularly travel for team practices, games, and events.

This role will focus on:

  • Driving strategic growth of digital following and engagement across social platforms
  • Covering and reporting on all Vancouver Warrior games throughout the season
  • Hosting on-camera content, including player and coach interviews, community visits, and partnership obligations
  • Attending practices, home games, and away games, providing coverage and posting updates to all digital platforms
  • Leading editorial conversations across departments (Lacrosse Operations, Content, Marketing, and Communications) to drive storytelling aligned with organizational and campaign goals
  • Developing social media content that ties the Vancouver Warriors to current events, trending topics, and pop culture in a way that is relevant to the team's brand, fanbase, and tone of voice
  • Publishing content on social media and the Vancouver Warriors website using the content management system
  • Managing the social media and content calendars for the Vancouver Warriors
  • Providing regular reports with insight and analysis on performance and growth strategy
  • Being plugged into the Vancouver Warriors and lacrosse social conversation, keeping a finger on the pulse of what NLL, Lacrosse Community, and Warrior fans are talking about
  • Supporting and covering social media and on-camera demands across other Canucks Sports & Entertainment properties as required

YOU HAVE:

  • A post-secondary degree or diploma in a related field such as Marketing, Communications or Journalism
  • At least 1-2 years of related work experience in social media and/or communications,
  • Strong writing and editing skills
  • Creative thinker and ability to read and react to situations
  • General understanding of website CMS systems
  • Experience with Photoshop and familiarity with other Adobe Creative Suite programs, including Premiere
  • Ability to juggle multiple tasks under tight deadlines and work odd and unpredictable hours
