Description

The role of a Christmas administrative assistant is to assist in all aspects of the Christmas Campaign.

Hours:

  • 20 hours per week. Varied schedule.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Performs general office duties such as filing, photocopying and reception responsibilities
  • Performs various bookkeeping duties such as receipting and deposits
  • Maintains Kettle Preparation (ensuring kettle kits are stocked and ready)
  • Maintains the Kettle Counting Process, ensuring supplies are ready and needs are addressed
  • Maintains databases as needed, including data entry
  • Handles and ensures the protection of extremely confidential and sensitive employee/Officer, client and or program files and information
  • Represents the Salvation Army in a positive, professional manner
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Note: Not all incumbents perform all of the duties described above but perform a similar range of duties.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

Education/Certifications:

  • The successful job applicant will have completed High School

Required Skills/Knowledge:

  • To be willing to adapt to changes and interruptions in your normal work routine
  • The ability to maintain confidentiality with regards to information relating to employment
  • A willingness to work with individuals or groups of differing backgrounds and cultures other than your own
  • A willingness to adhere to a dress code of neatness and cleanliness
  • An understanding of and support for the Mission Statement of The Salvation Army in Canada
  • Must have basic computer knowledge and word processing skills
  • Must be a self-motivated multi-tasker who is able to work independently and as part of a team.

Successful candidates, prior to hiring, may be required to provide:

  • A clean drivers abstract
  • Completion of our online training and required Health and Safety training
