Job Summary | Under the direction of the Regional Director/Associate Regional Director or designate, the incumbent will provide the overall program coordination for a variety of designated programs and courses. The incumbent will: |
Specific Duties | Assist in the acquisition and assess the organization and maintenance of program and course resources, supplies, materials and equipment; • Ensure all information pertinent to funding and reporting requirements is collected and disseminated; • Field and refer student concerns, link with student services and liaise with instructors; • Organize, record and maintain all pertinent program information; • Assist with student recruitment and retention; • Assist with and assess registration and intake processes and advertising campaigns; • Organize, update and record all pertinent student information including maintenance of student records, files and databases; • Assist with the recording and submission of course completions; • Assist with the monitoring and maintenance of program costs; • Arrange for workshops, guest speakers, and organize classroom calendars; • Respond to student and general public requests; • Assist with the implementation and maintenance of reporting structures that meet funding and sponsorship requests; • Assist with program linkages and communication strategies between programs, staff and external partners; • Assist instructors in implementing learning plans; • Disseminate information to instructors, students and other college programs; • You will be part of a team actively engaged in contributing to and accomplishing the vision, mission, and goals of the College and in supporting the aspirations and needs of our learners. • You will promote a positive work atmosphere by interacting and communicating in a professional manner that demonstrates mutual respect with students and colleagues. • Other related duties. |
Skills & Qualifications | • Recognized one (1) year certificate in post-secondary academic training in business, communication or office computer skills. • 3 years or more of comprehensive program coordination or administrative assistance experience. • Excellent problem solving and judgment skills. • Demonstrated understanding of the need for Aboriginal experts and practice within the program area. • Strong organizational, interpersonal and communication (both written and verbal) skills. • Commitment to a learner centred focus. • demonstrated ability to maintain accurate detail, while balancing several ministry and funder reporting requirements. • Competency in word processing and database management. • Ability to work independently and follow both written and verbal instructions. • Demonstrated understanding of student access, retention and cultural issues. • Familiar with various learning strategies and styles. • Demonstrated ability to work and communicate effectively within a team environment. |
