Be our next Office and Lab Support Assistant | Permanent Part-Time!

In this role, you will be based in our Kamloops office and have the opportunity to work within the Engineering Consulting industry! This role will start as part-time, with a minimum of 20 hours per week with the potential to grow to a full time role.

What a day at EXP has in store for you

  • Working with our Kamloops project support team and project managers on filing, project set ups and report preparation
  • Work in our Lab performing concrete, soils and other lab tests under the supervision of the Lab Coordinator
  • Work with our Lab Coordinator to record results and prepare materials reports for the Engineers to review
  • Greet all office visitors and guests, and maintain cleanliness of front entrance
  • Opening the office; set-up reception area
  • Answer/direct telephone calls in a professional and friendly manner
  • Order, stock and maintain kitchen, copy area, and printer supplies
  • Maintain office and its entirety for cleanliness throughout your day; which includes but not limited to; kitchens, reception, boardrooms, & lab
  • Manage incoming/outgoing regular mail & courier shipments and receipts
  • Perform other administrative duties such as data entry, copying, emailing documents both internally and to clients, filing, document retrieval, scheduling and coordination of meeting rooms, information gathering, word processing, document binding, document scanning
  • Assist the Office Administrator team with HR support (Onboarding/Offboarding). This includes working with the Hiring Manager, Human Resources, Office Manager & IT
  • Maintain Health & Safety protocols and procedures for office staff/guests
  • Other duties as assigned

What your experience looks like:

  • Professional, personable, self-motivated self starter, ready to take initiative
  • Ability to work consistently & independently in a team setting
  • Prompt, detail-oriented and organized multitasker that can meet deadlines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to maintain a filing system and accurate records
  • Maintains a high level of confidentiality
  • Post-Secondary degree or diploma or equivalent work experience in an administrative capacity
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Awareness of Health and Safety around you
